Run's a grandpa! Vanessa Simmons and her boyfriend Mike Wayans have welcomed a baby girl, a rep for the star confirms to Us Weekly. The daughter of Run D.M.C.'s Joseph Simmons welcomed her first child on Thursday, Feb. 13 and named her little bundle of joy Ava Marie Jean.
Simmons, 30, first revealed last September that she and actor Wayans, 28, were expecting — and she was already five months along! "We are both very excited about the birth of our first child," the new mom told Us at the time. "We totally were expecting it to be [a] boy all along but got very surprised when we found out it was indeed a girl. I immediately went out and brought a cute [little] outfit for her right after the appointment."
"I was so nervous telling my dad at first being that I'm not married YET but he was very excited and is supportive 100 percent. His concern is just that I'm happy," she continued. "Both families are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new baby girl. She's coming into two huge families waiting to give her lots of love."
Simmons appeared on MTV's Run's House from 2005 to 2009 with her family. She and Wayans — the son of actor and comedian Damon Wayans — have been dating for eight years.
