Prince William and Duchess Kate, both 29, passed on the vehicle to MREW (Mountain Rescue England and Wales) -- which then held a drawing at Clarence House with Prince Harry selecting the winner (among 26 possible rescue teams) out of a helmet.

That winner -- the Patterdale team in the Lake District, then gifted the wheels to the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.

"The vehicle will be greatly appreciated," Keith Montgomery, honorary secretary of Glossop Mountain Rescue Team, said in a statement. "Our present vehicle only has a shelf life of about six months and we were embarking on a major fundraising exercise to raise more than £45,000 to replace it."
