Effie Trinket would approve! Jennifer Lawrence went all out with her dress for the L.A. premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on Monday, Nov. 18. The 23-year-old actress stunned on the red carpet in a sheer Dior Haute Couture gown that was fit for the Capitol.
Lawrence flaunted her curves in the edgy ensemble that featured a dark strapless bodysuit with a light gray, see-through overlay and long train. The Oscar-winner accessorized the daring look with a black belt, Brian Atwood heels, Anita Ko jewels and a Roger Vivier bag. She also slightly spiked her short blonde pixie cut, and wore bright pink lipstick.
At the premiere, Hunger Games costume designer, Trish Summerville, told USA TODAY that Lawrence's red carpet dress was "amazing." Summerville also agreed that Lawrence has gotten bolder with her style choices for each premiere for the film. "She's a great actress and she's going to constantly evolve," the designer explained. "And I think that's going to happen with the films that she does and with the way she dresses. And cutting her hair. I think it's fantastic."
Lawrence looked confident walking the red carpet on Monday, but the Silver Linings Playbook actress recently revealed in a interview with French magazine Madame Figaro that she suffered from social anxiety as a child. "I went to see a shrink. Nothing worked," she said. But then Lawrence discovered acting and saw her "anxieties disappear."
Lawrence explained, "I finally found a way [to] open the door to a universe that I understood, that was good for me and made me happy, because I felt capable, whereas before I felt worthless."
