Julia Roberts Dazzles in More Than 700 Swarovski Crystals in New Lancome Video

Shine on, darling! Julia Roberts absolutely dazzles in a crystal-studded couture dress in the latest video campaign for Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle fragrance.

The mini-movie opens with Roberts, 48, who has been a Lancôme brand ambassador since 2010 and starred in the perfume‘s last dreamy film in 2012, sitting at a dinner party clad in a stunning long-sleeved white dress.

The dress in question is a haute couture creation by Alexandre Vauthier. And part of the reason it shines so bright? It’s been hand-embroidered with more than 700 Swarovski crystals by Maison Lesage.

“Being in love with Julia Roberts, her look, her career and her appearances, the dress came to me in a flash!” said Vauthier in a statement. “We needed something extremely elegant with a dash of sex appeal. Something very chic that dreams are made of. The idea was to create an iconic dress that would best embody Julia Roberts and allow her to really shine.”

And her makeup plays off the dress beautifully. Naturally, Roberts models Lancôme makeup, applied by her longtime makeup artist Genevieve Herr. The Color Design Eyeshadow Palettes in #602 and #313, plus the Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony and Purple Dusk eyeliners, crafted her smoky eye. The Blush Subtil in Rose Flush gave her cheeks that glow, while Color Design in Haute Nude #124 offered her lips a light pink tint.

The mom of three shows it all off as she gets up from the table and magically removes the walls between her intimate party and the big bash happening right outside. After that, she removes one more wall to reveal a balcony that looks out into Paris and its sparkling Eiffel Tower.

“This film speaks of the refusal to be confined to the small box of convenience and the need to look elsewhere to find beauty and, most importantly, a real sense of personal achievement,” director James Gray shared in a statement.

As for his leading lady, Gray shared, “The Julia you see in the city is the same as you see on screen: divine and completely genuine.”
