Michelle Obama Dazzles in Teal Gown, Giant Statement Necklace at State Dinner
Blue belle of the ball!
Michelle Obama chose a teal Marchesa off-the-shoulder gown to wear to the annual White House State Dinner on Wednesday night. But the real show stopper of the evening was her statement jewels!
To complement the Georgina Chapman-designed creation (a silk gazar draped column dress in deep teal), Obama, 48, wore a necklace made from strands of teal, blue, silver and white pearls layered over a giant rhinestone piece.
"I love the addition of texture with the Tom Binns necklace," Roksanda Ilincic, who dressed Obama for the evening, told reporters.
She topped off the look with big circle gemstone earrings.
Chapman was in attendance at the dinner, along with her movie mogul husband Harvey Weinstein. When the film legend found out that the First Lady had chosen to wear one of his wife's designs, he commented to the Daily Mail, "I'm knocked out."
Michelle and her husband Barack Obama were in good company at the event held in honor of British Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha. George Clooney, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson and Anna Wintour were among the stars who attended the high-profile event.
