Mila Kunis knew just the way to ring in her new role of motherhood: She fêted the birth of her first child with a little bit of jewelry!
The actress, 31, marked her exciting milestone by designing a stunning emerald ring with Marina B and Gemfields in recognition of motherhood. The 18-karat yellow gold piece with a Gemfields Zambian emerald is a charitable effort by Kunis and the brands, as 100 percent of the profits will benefit Zambia’s Gemfields Nkana Health Center.
“Carrying a child and bringing new life into the world marks the start of an incredible journey,” Kunis said in a release to Vogue. “Throughout history, every culture has its own way of recognizing this extraordinary event, often with a gift for mother or child. Precious green emeralds are traditionally symbols of motherhood, wisdom, and long-lasting love. But they are also a symbol for hope in many cultures, and so the proceeds from this collection of Motherhood Rings will benefit the opening of Gemfields Nkana Health Center, where four new wards have been built — a major undertaking that will have long-lasting benefits to the local community.”
The health center is located near the mine for Gemfields — a jewelry company for which Kunis serves as an ambassador. The ring retails for $4,800, and is available for reservation through Marina B as the Mila Ring.
The newly minted jewelry designer welcomed her first child, daughter Wyatt Isabelle, with fiancé Ashton Kutcher on Oct. 1. The former That ’70s Show costars began dating in 2012, and got engaged earlier this year.
