Name: Taraji P. Henson
Occupation: Actress
Style shift: "I'm moving more into a more chic and sophisticated phase," says the Oscar nominated star of this fall's CBS drama Person of Interest. "But I have my moments where I'm still the trendy girl, where I'll put on whatever's hot at the time. Like the color-blocking!"
Mix master: Though the recent NYC transplant loves designers (Gucci, Stella McCartney, Helmut Lang and Dolce & Gabbana are tops), she’s not afraid to bargain hunt: “I could put on a pair of expensive shoes and a Target dress, and if it fits, people will automatically assume it's a designer!” says Henson, a devoted browser of everything from Neiman Marcus to Ross to flea markets.
Carrie-d away: Henson's style icons? "All the women on Sex and the City, especially Sarah Jessica Parker. She knows how to be elegant, and then she'll go crazy, and just have a crinoline skirt and a bustier top. That's a girly girl's dream. I love her style. So incredible!"
Gam cam: "I focused on my legs a lot this year, doing lots of mini-skirts and shorts and heels. People don’t realize I have these really long legs until they see me in a photo shoot. Then they're like, 'Oh my god, your legs go on for days!'” says the actress, who swears by Physique 57 workouts. "And it's like, you know what? I need to showcase my legs before they start falling apart!"
QUOTE: "People that dress me call me a paper doll, because I'm open to everything. I like to have fun!"
