Caitriona Balfe toasted the mid-season premiere of her hit Starz series, Outlander, on Tuesday, April 1, in NYC, and the leading lady looked nothing short of stunning in her peekaboo, violet dress!
Always one to choose lush hues for the red carpet, the Irish actress, 35, worked her statuesque frame in a fitted Roland Mouret design, completed with a netted bodice that revealed just a peek at her décolletage. She accessorized the style with a black Halston Heritage clutch and ankle-strap heels. Balfe, who plays time-traveling Claire Beauchamp, also added a cherry statement lip.
Naturally, the raven-haired beauty was joined by her on-screen love interest, Sam Heughan, who ditched the (boxer-less!) kilt he wears as sexy Jamie Fraser in favor of a denim-blue suit, teamed with a navy tie.
Considering her character’s future, Balfe dished to Us Weekly, “I think that Claire has really come to terms with her fate. In the first half of the season, she had a very singular focus, which was to get home. Now, that’s probably changed a little with the curveball of Jamie. So in learning that she has to stay, you really have to invest in the relationship. So many things change.”
One thing that won’t change anytime soon? The series’ signature steaminess! When asked if fans could expect any sex scenes as heart-pounding as the one in “The Wedding,” Balfe replied with a laugh, “Once you see the first [episode] you’ll know the answer!”
