When Kris Humphries proposed to Kim Kardashian, he offered a staggeringly huge ring fit for a queen: a platinum engagement ring by Lorraine Schwartz. The reality star debuted the rock while she and her NBA beau, 26, hit LAX on Wednesday for a flight out of the country. (Check out more pix of her ring-reveal at Bauer-Griffin's blog.) The mega-bling features a 16.5-carat emerald cut center stone, flanked by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids -- totaling 20.5 carats!

Like the 30-year-old reality star wearing it, the ring is a true original, jewelry expert Michael O'Connor tells Us Weekly. "The emerald cut center is a classic cut, but the trapezoids modernize the style," O'Connor says. "Since the center diamond is rectangular shaped, it elongates Kim’s hand, making the ring look even more elegant."

Adds O'Connor of famed jeweler Schwartz, who has been designing baubles for Kardashian for years: "Lorraine Schwartz is known for excellent quality diamonds."
One expert from the Diamond Information Center estimates the huge rock at "at least" a million dollars.

What does the size of her ring have to do with anyone but her and her man? he/she have the financial means, and that is their business! Happiness is between/intimacy is between the two individuals in love, and that is their business and only they know the reality of it. I think that she and her sisters are graceful & kick ass business women, and they know how to take care of business! Good for you!

@Jacara: yes, Kris picked out the ring - but do you think he didn't have a pretty good idea that anything small and tasteful wouldn't be acceptable to Kim? And just FYI - if a man bought me a ring like this, I would NOT wear it. I'm not a big fan of diamonds to begin with, and for me, something this big and expensive is just trashy.

Ugh, I really hate the word "hater" it is entirely stupid. I don't hate anyone, I hate some actions. I wouldn't dare speak for anyone on here, but I would surmise they might agree. I know for a fact that the Kardashians do support (at least on occasion) some charities, but I think what is irking people on here is the complete daftness of buying a $2million dollar ring and flaunting it around when so many people are struggling. What about the two months salary rule (for the man, not for the lady or the lady plus the man). I would like to see "Kimmy" get her hands dirty helping out people once in awhile. But that goes for lots of other celebs too.

I'm okay with her having that ring & marrying him. At least when they divorce we know she can support herself. she's not completely gold digging. Plus it's not up to the rich people to take care of the poor people. She worked for her money like the rest of us. I wonder when her next sex video is coming out. LoL
Think of all the help the money spent on that ring could have assisted some of the tornado victims who now have nothing. Just my opinion.
