Taylor's getting into the clothing game! Taylor Swift's team has announced that she's launching her very first women's clothing line. While, for the moment, the line will exclusively be available in China (through JD.com), it's exciting news for her massive fan base nonetheless.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the 25-year-old pop phenom's decision to expand her empire comes as a direct response to the rampant counterfeiting problem in China—an issue that has directly affected Swift's business, as a whole slew of unauthorized Taylor Swift products are being sold around the country (including guitars featuring the star's "signature").
That's why Swift partnered with the aforementioned JD.com, as well as Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.—two of China's biggest e-commerce names—so that she can put out her own official products, which (according to CNN) will include dresses, sweatshirts, and tops.
Starting Saturday, Aug. 8, JD.com and Alibaba's Tmall will launch the line with $60 Taylor Swift T-shirts, complete with official tags attached to them—way in advance of Swift's arrival in the country. The "Bad Blood" singer is set to perform two concerts in Shanghai, China, on Nov. 10 and 11.
