The aspiring singer, 19 — who released her latest single, “The Great Divide,” on Friday, August 25 — made a splash in a white button-down crop top and wide-leg trousers at the BCBGMAXAZRIA Make-A-Wish Foundation Fashion Show. Black, who was only 13 when her video made the rounds on the internet in 2011, paired the separates ensemble with a sparkly black clutch, matching heels and a statement bracelet.

To complete her style, the songstress wore her collarbone-length dark brown tresses down in soft curls and modeled an elegant smoky eye with a glossy mauve lip.

With her new lob-style haircut (she wore her tresses at chest level in “Friday”) and fresh sound, Black is ready for fans to see her in a new light. “‘Friday’ was a big part of my life, but I don’t know if I would say it’s a part of me as an artist,” she explained to Entertainment Weekly on Friday. “So many people know me just by that song, but I’m much more than that.”

Looks and sound aren’t the only ways Black has grown up. “I’ve realized there are certain people I’ve let into my life that aren’t healthy for me,” she continued. “[‘The Great Divide’] is about letting those people go and feeling power in knowing that’s the best decision for you.”
