Corey Haim will be buried in Toronto, Ontario, where he was born, the late actor's manager Marc Haislip confirmed to UsMagazine.com Thursday.

The former teen idol's family "want to do it back home," Haislip told Us. "But there will be a memorial in L.A." Dates for the occasions have not yet been set. The family plans on reaching out to the Hollywood community for donations to fund the burial and service.

In the meantime, the Lost Boys star's family has gathered in Los Angeles: his sister Cari and father Bernie have joined his mother Judy, with whom Corey lived in a low-rent apartment before he died Wednesday at age 38.

"She's not doing well at all. This is really hitting her," Haislip said of Judy, who is "very ill" with cancer.

As for the circumstances surrounding Haim's death, Haislip confirmed that Judy received a call from the coroner on Thursday. Although Access Hollywood had reported that she was told her son's cause of death, Haislip said that the call simply confirmed "symptoms of pulmonary congestion, enlarged heart, and water in the lungs."

He added: "she doesn't think [his death] was from [pill] abuse."

Meanwhile, L.A.'s Chief Coroner Investigator and Chief of Operations Craig Harvey confirms to UsMagazine.com that it completed Haim's autopsy Thursday. The final cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology and histopathology test, Harvey explained; the final report is expected in six to eight weeks.

It is very sad that Corey has died so young, but yet again it is another stastic for child stars. Some over come their addictions and some do not. I certainly hope for his families sake that he didn't die of an overdose. But it wouldn't suprise me if he did.

I think its sad that nobody was there to help now everybody is like oh he was such a great actor where was everybody then he must of felt so alone and despret i think its so wrong that he had to die to get his recognition i hope he finally has peace in his life finally and knows no more pain rip

Geez People! He's dead. Why bash each other's countries? It doesn't have anything to do if he was Canadian or American, Japanese, or Swedish. The fact is he used drugs. Period! You can't save someone from drug abuse if they don't want to be saved. He started his drug use at age 12. It's over, let him rip for god's sake!!!

babygirl let me tell you first and formost that hockey is a canadian game and Canada don't care about so much about this guy who has been an american for the most part of his life

PLEASE! Can we stop talking about Canada VS US? Who is more money hungry... I will be QUICK to point out that the CANADIAN HOCKEY PLAYERS come down to the US, play for the NHL (US governed) to MAKE MORE MONEY!!!! It really goes both ways! The lifestyle Corey chose is what ruined him. He was his own worst enemy. RIP....

I'm sorry for the family but...asking for donations,PLEASE All the movies and shows he was in, he was still getting paid. And if the OTHER Cory cares so much let him pay for it all! Like Americans aren't hurting financially enough already! Help Corey by helping out another struggling addict instead of a memorial.

I'm sure Corey would of wanted to be buried at home in Canada. Many times in his career he would come back to Canada for a couple of years and get sober,go back to Hollywood to get his career going and start using again.Toronto is where Corey belongs.

I have enjoyed Lost Boys for many years. It is a tragedy that Corey Haim did not benefit from the movies' continued success. Rest in Peace.

@ J LOL! Take your head out of the sand! I honestly don't see how my comment was disrespectful. I'm merley stating the truth. Americans are money hungry because they are greedy! I think money and power have corrupt their government! Would you like some examples? Like first off how the U.S is in a financial crisis, and how their people are still going hungry or how their doctors only service the ones who have money and insurance....Need I say more? Hollywood is especially greedy! :) And yes really...A good chunk of America ruined Corey and that is a place called Hollywood!

Man o man, there are some cruel people in this world. Words DO hurt- No matter how old we are .... God Bless Corey's family! Rest in Peace...

You will be missed. Another young actor taken way to soon. RIP Cory

.. Jenii84 ... I definitely agree w/you that the comment was uncalled for, however why are you telling someone else to be respectful and then say "not money hungry like America"??? As far as America owning Corey and ruining Corey, REALLY???? America didn't force him to take drugs. While his death is a terrible tragedy, it's not America's fault.

Also...My prayers go out to Coreys mom and the rest of his family & friends. Rest In Peace Corey.

@LiquorInFrontPokerInRear I am Canadian as well and I think your comment is very false! We are your neighbours so show some respect! Canada is the best country in the world to live in and anyone saying otherwise is in complete denial or has never visited my country. A lot of great actors/actresses came from Canada! And the reason they go to America is so they can pursue their dreams at becoming an actor...And it's really sad in the end for a lot of these actors and how Hollywood treats them! Also...We have the best educated people, highest literacy in the world, we have the healthiest people, our life expectancy is higher meaning we live longer than anyone on the planet except for people in Ja.pan and Iceland, we were named #1 friendliest country for many, many years, we have low crime rates, and we rocked it at the Olympics and we are generally just friendly, honest, generous, peaceful, compassionate people who are not money hungry like America. Canada is also at the top of the list for countries people would most like to live which has been ranked by the G-8 nations! Get this through your head...America does not own Corey! American ruined Corey! Just think what his life could have been like if he stayed here in Canada?! Just stating the facts! ;) I'm thrilled to hear that he's coming back to Canada and I hope someday to visit him.

RIP Corey! I pray your mother and family find strength through this time. As far cost of living, the lowest fee per the website for that unit is $100/day or $3,000 a month. While NOT a hollywood mansion how is that low-rent, mathmatically speaking?
  • March 12, 2010 - 9:19am Mary Says:

This is so sad, I hope his mom gets better and beats this cancer. God Bless her!! RIP Corey!! So sad to see you gone!! Love you!!

  • March 12, 2010 - 7:55am Katie Says:

Oh shut up LiquorlnFrontPokerInRear...I am Canadian, and Canada does not suck. Who won the big hockey game for the olympics...oh yeah it us, and we won the gold, for the women and the men. It shouldn't matter where anyone came from, and that is what the wrong in this world. If more people came together, instead of saying you're suck because you are from here or there, or because you are a different colour of religion...The world would be a better place. R.I.P Corey...I hope you are in a better place now!
