Exclusive: DWTS Performer Goes Topless in New PETA Ad

Wednesday – November 25, 2009 – 3:19pm

What an angel!

Dancing with the Stars alum -- and Playboy's December cover model -- Joanna Krupa reveals her support for animal rights in an eye-popping new ad campaign for PETA.

Flashback! See what some of DWTS contestants looked like way back when

In this exclusive preview of the "Be an Angel for Animals" campaign, Krupa (wearing angel wings) is joined by her dog, Rugby.

Check out these incredible DWTS body makeovers!

On Dec. 1, the model will lead a protest outside a Los Angeles pet store that sells dogs and puppies from "puppy mills.

"We're trying to spread the word that breeding isn't the way to go," Krupa says in a PETA interview.

Look back on the ninth season of DWTS with this slideshow

"Somebody needs to put their foot down and stop this breeding and these puppy mills. … they're in these little tiny cages, and all they're doing is breeding their whole life. It makes me so angry that our government doesn't do anything about it. So I am!"

This woman is gorgeous - If she brings attention to the problem occurring, what does it matter how it is presented...I just don't get it...It's okay for the Victoria's Secret model to put on their little wings, and it doesn't cause up uproar....but this poor girl is trying to do some good and is getting put down for it...give me a break.

I have to agree, it's awful hypocritical when you are holding a pure breed "designer dog". I wonder what she paid for that dog?? Or if it's really even hers. Like someone else said, if they are trying to get people not to breed or buy pure breed dogs why is she topless? PETA's new thing seems to be having celebrities naked. Funny that they have really lowered their morals when they are supposed to be promoting "good". I guess it's okay to basically do porn but not to have a pure bread animal or not be a veggie.

I love these Peta ads. â??anonâ?? â?? Iâ??m happy that your friend runs a decent business but MOST of them are horrible and disgusting. You should be happy that someone is sticking up for these animals instead of trying to put Peta and their campaigns down!

There's nothing wrong with breeding animals, if it's done right and in a safe environment. Peta and this sk*nk need to get lives. There are safe and secure ways to breed animals, without them being "used" or harmed. One of my best friends runs a breeding business and it's safe and harmless, and her local SPCA comes to check it throughly many times a year. She's fine. Each and every one of her dogs gets individual love and not ONE is starved or deprived. Seriously you idiotic animal rights "activists" need to actually investigate into real stuff instead of just automatically saying breeding is bad. It's not. And there are safe ways for the animals. They should NEVER get bred every heat cycle. If people pay attention to that kind of thing, which "activists" label them immediately as cruel, then it's FINE.

Love Joanna - especially since she was an animal activist BEFORE she got famous. I am not religious but I like that PeTA reminds us (now that X-mas is cmoming) and what Christianity is about : helping the weak....the needy....and animals are the weakest beings in our society.

I see how many jealous chicks write here.. :) Some girls will never grow out of their high school b.itch mentality. And some people can't stand Catholics, I guess... Sight of a cross burns them like holy water. :)

I think PETA is a little on the desperate side, but that doesnt mean we just go and trash her, puppy mills, religion. If you have a problem with it its PETA. We all know they can be psychos. I do think its a cute picture, but also as always people look to far into things till they find contoversey and that is sad too.

you go girl! i usually don't use this catchphrase but.... (....)
  • November 25, 2009 - 11:10pm katie Says:

yes, you should always adopt and never buy but i'm sure this chick has leather at home. not very PETAlike.
  • November 25, 2009 - 10:52pm Anonymous Says:

whaaaat. Who said you have to show your body to support adoption? Peta is freakin crazy, they always do this. I agree that puppy mills are wrong, but most people do also. It's too bad Joanna's like that, I've become a huge fan of hers from 'Dancing, and I had no idea who she even was. But playboy, that explains it. And I agree, leave religion out of it.
  • November 25, 2009 - 10:41pm Donna Says:

It's hard to believe their sincerity and the message they are trying to put out when they keep redirecting the focus to women in a sexual nature. It's not just this one time, its every time. What does it have anything to do with their cause? They are trading one wrong for another.
  • November 25, 2009 - 10:33pm Get A Clue Says:

@8:07 People like you make me sick. You want to take religion out of every single thing as if its something to be ashamed of and swept under the rug. I suppose you are blissfully ignorant in thinking life just *magically appeared.* Perhaps religion simply gets in your way of being able to do whatever you want. You want to live like there is no God, you better hope you are right....
  • November 25, 2009 - 9:07pm Speedy Says:

My dog Schlomo is way cuter than Rugby - he's a Yorkshire Terrier I rescued..so "good for her" its possible to get "designer dogs" at the pound. By the way, no one tell Schlomo he is a designer dog because he's already too egotistical as it is!
  • November 25, 2009 - 8:07pm Anonymous Says:

I thought topless meant showing your breasts; and what's with the rosary and big cross? Leave religion out of it.
  • November 25, 2009 - 7:04pm Miss California Says:

She really needs to go away. Her personality is so fake, along with her boobs and lips. We all know who has bigger lips than Joanna in Hollywood.. 2 names.. Angelina Jolie and Lisa Rina
  • November 25, 2009 - 6:33pm doodlebug Says:

Posing topless with a Rosary in her hand. Not cool. Also not the first time. Madonna was famous for it. But I still hate the mixing of sex with religion. Cheapens something very sacred to me.

November 25, 2009 - 4:12pm JGinFL Says: Where did Rugby come from? He doesn't exactly look like the dog you would find at the shelter. I agree with the message but it seems hypocritical when you are holding a pretty little "designer dog". You do realize that shelters are full of cute dogs don't you? She's posing with a dog she got from a shelter to show you that you can find any kind of dog there. I have a little cute dog from a shelter also.

Never heard of Joanna before - now she has made it to the top - topless of course.
