Ivanka Trump Says "I Do!"

Sunday – October 25, 2009 – 8:23pm

Jewelry designer and entrepreneur Ivanka Trump is a married woman!

The 27-year-old daughter of Donald Trump swapped vows with New York Observer owner Jared Kushner Sunday in New Jersey, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

The afternoon nuptials took place on the grounds of the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Orthodox Rabbi Haskel Lookstein performed the ceremony.

Ivanka wore a Vera Wang wedding gown, inspired by Grace Kelly. The groom chose a Brioni one-button peak lapel tuxedo.

"She was the most stunning bride," a rep for Ivanka tells Us.

Despite a short engagement, Ivanka says the plan for her special day quickly fell into place -- thanks to a wedding planner who kept her on task.

"I only had a 3 month engagement so it was all done pretty quickly," the newlywed told Us before the ceremony during the launch party for her new book Trump Card. "To all those women planning a wedding, just be organized and decisive. It also helps if you have a wedding planner helping you out!"

Check out the day's top celeb news photos.

Another big plus that bodes well for their nuptials? Dad Donald is a fan of Kushner, the son of another New York-based real estate family. "They make a magnificent couple," the mogul has told Us of Ivanka and his new son-in-law.

Ivanka announced her engagement last July via Twitter. "I got engaged last night...truly the happiest day of my life!!!" she wrote.

The couple have been dating since 2007. They briefly split, but reconciled in July 2008. Trump, an executive vice president at the Trump Organization, converted to Judaism for Kushner, who is also an executive at the Kushner Companies, which owns and manages commercial real estate and apartments.

If you are an Orthodox Jew, doesn't that mean you must wear a wig or have your hair tucked under a hat ALL THE TIME? If you are an Orthodox Jew, doesn't that mean that you can never wear sleeveless attire? If you are an Orthodox Jew, doesn't that mean from Friday sundown until Saturday sundown - you cannot use the phone, use the computer, or drive a car?

Contrary to popular belief, plenty of people convert for themselves, not marriage. Some people's conversions to Orthodox Judaism don't take 2-4 years. Mine only took 1 year.

And btw, I wish the newlyweds much happiness. She looks like a wonderful woman and so much in love. May it last forever.

To Chosen One...you are wrong. I was born Jewish, however we have several converts in our family and not ONE of them has been treated as anything but Jewish and is VERY much part of our family. My husband is not a Jew and not a convert and HE is treated like royalty by my parents. So, it is more a question of WHO the human being is inside, what values they possess, not WHAT they are.

I have never seen a more gorgeous bride !!!! Ivanka looks breathtaking, gracious, natural, and unique. Traditional, yet sexy !! She is truly a role model for all women across the globe.. Timeless elegance that never fades . Unlike, Khloe Kardashian that talks like a filthy truckdriver and gets drunk like a foolish child, Ivanka is more business oriented, cultured, stongminded, highly intelligent, classy, gorgeous, respectful, assertive, and taken seriously in life .. Her wedding photos are worth a million. She looks just stunning !!

Ivanks looks very elegant and simply gorgeous. I have never seen anyone as stunning actually !! She looks simply gorgeous is an understatement ! She is bringing the 40s back with grace and style. She doesnt look like a made up porno star, yet naturally breathtaking ! ~ Timeless Elegance ~ I love her dress. It is very traditional yet sexy just how a bride should dress like. She never had to expose herself or act like a promiscious, drunken, prissy, spoiled little brat. Ivanka is a great role model. She is smart, strong, cultured, respectful, educated, charming, kindhearted, assertive, classy, yet a knockout ! You can tell she was bought up with manners and raised right.

I'm an Orthodox Jew, and yes, one can convert to Orthodox Judaism. I even know an Orthodox Rabbi who is a convert. By the way, the headline is wrong: She didn't say "I do," because brides & grooms don't say that at an Orthodox Jewish ceremony.
  • October 26, 2009 - 2:49pm gatorgirl Says:

Carrie if Ivanka was a born again Christian, she will not lose her salvation by converting to Judaism. Just because she converted doesn't mean that she doesn't beleive anymore.
  • October 26, 2009 - 2:11pm naoma Says:

I do not think one can "convert" to ORTHODOX JUDAISM. Can anyone confirm this? Reform or Conservative permit conversion.
  • October 26, 2009 - 1:39pm Clarice Says:

Ivanka converted to Orthodox Judaism, not Buddhism! Her new mother-in-law demanded it. Bound to be trouble ahead. NOTHING Ivanka does will be good enough for her new family. Jerry Seinfeld's mother laid down the law, too - "never marry a convert!"
  • October 26, 2009 - 1:33pm torah Says:

Ivanka converted the right way...orthodox, and will therefore be accepted as a Jew. The only way to be accepted as a Jew is to be born of a Jewish mother or to convert according to Jewish law...orthodox.
  • October 26, 2009 - 1:15pm sue Says:

Was Ivanka a born-again Christian before her conversion?
  • October 26, 2009 - 12:23pm Kay Says:

To Chosen One at 9:23: Your claims that "Jews don't accept anyone into their cult" is inaccurate. Jews do accept converts into the religion. It's sounds like you had a negative experience.
  • October 26, 2009 - 11:48am Carrie Says:

What Christian in their right mind would give up their eternal salvation for some guy? How anyone can just stop believing in Jesus is beyond me, and she will be sorry some day. This is just sad.
