Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem Are Engaged!

Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are engaged, a source tells Usmagazine.com.
"They tried to keep it very private and quiet," the source continues of the couple, who began dating in 2007. (They first met while filming flick Jamon, Jamon in 1992.)

A rep for Cruz, 35, had no comment.
A pal told the New York Daily News, which first reported the story, that Cruz wanted to wed Bardem, 40, to appease Cruz's Catholic parents -- given the persistent rumors that she's pregnant, which she's denied.

Cruz once said she wasn't sure she wanted to be a wife.
"I don't know if I believe in marriage," she told Psychology Today in August. "I believe in family, love and children."
She continued: "When I [have children], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life."

She wants to get married to appease her catholic parents? LOL thats a huge laugh, what did her parents think she was doing when she was sleeping around with all those she dated? uhm isnt that against catholic teaching? not that im catholic , but totally respect their views. Just funny, she can sleep around that is ok, but getting pregnant is another thing. I would have thought her parents beliefs would have been on her mind during all those times. since shes getting married to appease her parents, she is pregnant for sure. She's slept her way through Hollywood and Madrid for nearly 20 years...I've seen in many interviews where she says she doesn't believe in marriage...and now today I find out she supports Roman Polanski...didn't know that tidbit. She wasn't even in this country when that happened and was a very small child then as well, so she's ignorant for even signing a petition to have him freed. If she is pregnant and it's a girl, I hope the child does not turn out to be another Mackenzie Phillips or the victim of a man like Roman Polanski. Penelope is just another typical Hollywood sleaze and liberal. And she looks absolutely miserable in this picture. -
