  Reading her frantic story about her kid's cold/ fever, I had to go back and make sure I'd read Ellie's age correctly, YEP, she is 18- EIGHTEEN YEARS, not months! I'd understand if that was the case. Plus, all the money she makes and the way she goes on and on about being proactive in ones health and she doesn't have a simply thermometer on hand??? And she tried to make Sarah Palin look stupid!

  The thing with the younger guy is not going to last. He will want his own children. Katie is too old to provide that for him. Yes, she is a cougar and should embrace the idea. Never thought Katie was the brightest bulb in the box and turned the channel when her interviews came on.

  Katie Couric is your typical kiss a^^ uneducated, misguided liberal. She has no problem collecting over 20 million dollars annually while nearly 150 people lost their jobs at CBS this week all because she fails to command an audience to pay her ridiulous salary. It would be beneath her to accept a pay cut to keep a single worker who lost their job this week at CBS. She is a sad excuse for a journalist (sic) and believes in her own twisted mind that her legs are her biggest asset. Funny how CBS was accused of tarting up the evening news by having her step away from behind the desk, when the truth is she wanted to be front and center as if she is still on the Today Show. It will always be "The Katie Show" to her in that feeble little mind of hers.

  @Merlin...glad you largely agree; but you might not about what I was saying about some other women in the press; the point was just that women have the ability to choose, and given that some choose really well with younger guys suggests that women who have at times chosen what our society would call "age appropriate guys" suggests that there is NO guarantee for success. Man or woman needs to decide based on many things re: a mate. I brought up Edwards, Sanford, Dion, as women who many other women (at least up to now, where things, thank GOD are changing) would assume chose well, and "age appropriate" husbands didn't end up choosing well at all. So much of the right choice involves having and taking pride in onesself, and these women have in common that they've put up with plenty of crap and would likely never think that a younger guy could work for them because they are SO insecure, so dependent, seemingly so restricted. All three have and have had choices to make, but sadly all have failed miserably in the area of self esteem. Ultimately, this is what this is all about and that's why I date younger guys myself. Too many guys in their mid-30s and older into their 40s (won't even mention the even older fogies in their 50s and 60s) just don't "get women." Sadly, Edwards, Sanford, and Dion (and there are many others) probably don't see possibilities where there are so many -- self esteem is critical!

  Katie needs a companion - since she's got so much money, she can choose whoever she wants; this guy is only in it for the ride. He gets to live it up and enjoy the life of the rich. She is most likely very bossy; she is lonely without her husband, so wonder how much she is paying this guy.

  I have a relative that works for CBS that has been affected by the layoffs. You cannot believe the animosity that is festering at this company because of Katie's ridiculous salary. I hope the "powers that be" wake up and realize that Katie's salary is destroying the company from within.
