Brad Pitt, Oprah, George Clooney Among White House Visitors

Saturday – October 31, 2009 – 4:17pm

If those walls could talk!

Brad Pitt -- but not his lady friend or six kids -- had an audience with the President of the United States at the official Washington, D.C. residence in 2009.

Also paying White House calls since Obama's inauguration: Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Denzel Washington, and Serena Williams (not to mention scores of business, civic and political leaders, including Microsoft's Bill Gates and former Vice President Al Gore).

Goofiest Halloween getups of the year -- check them out

In an unprecedented move, the White House -- stressing the administration's commitment to transparency -- released a limited list of its visitors since Barack Obama took office, MSNBC.com reports. It's the first time any presidential administration has made such a list publicly available.

Clooney visited on Feb. 23 to meet with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to discuss the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan's Darfur region. Longtime Obama champion Winfrey interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama Feb. 17 and also attended an inaugural reception. (Of Pitt's visit, no details have yet been provided.)

See Clooney and other stars before and after they were hunks!

While far from complete (the list is voluntary, not required by law and excludes many for security reasons) the list's 110 names also include Michael Jordan, Michael Moore and Shawn Carter (Jay Z's real name)-- but these, MSNBC found, are not the basketball player, filmmaker or hip-hop artist but different individuals with the same names.

More names are expected to be released by the end of this year.

So we still have way too many people unemployed, families still losing their homes, cities like Detroit are empty and suffering, kids are getting beat to death in Chicago and our public education system is horrible and BO and JB are sitting down with George Clooney about the crisis in Darfur. WTF? Shouldn't they be doing something about the crisis right here?

A very sad time for American was when Bush was in the White House. You racist, narrow-minded, right-wingers are done! you're a fading minority. Die off already. There's a new world order and it doesn't include you!

Seriously, when did the country become more about public affairs, prestige, money and fame, and less about honesty or experience? It makes me ill.

I really want to know what makes a hollywood actor worthy of a meeting with the president to discuss foreign affairs. They're not in politics, they're not politically experienced, and a lot of them don't even have a college education. They have advisors and reps that help them put together coherent sentences and journals. Tell you what Obama, I'd like to schedule a meeting with you. At least I'm a college graduate.

i'm black and i dislike the dude he has won the presidency without ever accomplishing anything. he's won the nobel piece prize without accomplishing nothing, israel and pakistan are still at each others throats, the economy is still a mess, the health care plan stinks and oh yeah he can't make a decision about the war, healthcare, pakistan, afghanistan or world peace...the only thing obama seems to be able to do is blame bush for everything and schmooze with his celebrity friends.

these people think they're sooo special and important to be visiting the white house, as if they are suddenly intelligent enough. Celeb causes are o.k., but get off your high horses already-- and stop WORSHIPPING obama just because he's a black president- YES I said it, that's exactly why all these fools fall all over him...just admit it. It's not as if his policies are working or that he's any different from any of his peers- he's a human being, not a freakin god, unless you are stupid enough to think of him as one

I have to say I don't like it when actors or anyone in the entertainment industry gets political. However, even though I do disagree with most of his beliefs, George Clooney is interesting to listen to because he actually has reasons for the topics he brings up. Darfur is important, but he talks like a politician, so I will listen.
