Third time's a charm? Florida Highway Patrol troopers hope to speak with Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren at their Orlando, Fla.-area home Sunday about the minor car accident outside their Florida that left Woods with facial lacerations. The couple turned the troopers away on both Friday and Saturday, WFTV.com reports.
Although they are not required by law to discuss the incident, the couple's reluctance to talk fuels ongoing speculation that a heated argument -- regarding a National Enquirer story claiming Woods' affair with Rachel Uchitel -- played a role in Woods' injuries.

While pulling his 2009 Cadillac SUV out of his driveway, Woods hit a fire hydrant and then slammed into a tree around 2:25 a.m.
Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor says that Nordegren used a golf club to smash the back window and free Woods from the vehicle. "According to officers, she was very upset and frantic," Saylor tells WFTV. When troopers arrived on the scene, Woods was reportedly going in an out of consciousness but was quickly stabilized.

As yet unanswered: where Woods was headed at 2:30 in the morning; alcohol has already been ruled out as a mitigating factor. Woods was sober, and no alcohol was found on the scene.
Saylor and his team did not receive any word of an argument between Woods and Nordegren.

"Right now we believe this is a traffic crash. We don't believe it is domestic issue," patrol spokesman Sgt. Kim Montes told WHTV.com.
On Saturday, Usmagazine.com spoke to Nordegren's mother, Barbro Holmberg, who briefly addressed news of her son-in-law's affair with Uchitel. "You seem to know more than enough already," she told Us. "There is enough for them to handle already. Please can you give everyone space."

As for Nordegren's supposed role in Woods' Friday injuries? "This is gossip," she said.
