Exclusive: Tom and Katie Celebrate with Travoltas at Secret Scientology Event

Tuesday – October 20, 2009 – 4:32pm

Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and daughter Suri reunited with John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston -- plus over 4000 other Scientologists -- at a massive party in England on Oct. 16, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

The stars were surprise guests at the 25th anniversary of the International Association of Scientologists held at Saint Hill Manor in East Grinsted, West Sussex. During nearly two hours of speeches, Cruise, 47, briefly addressed the rapturous, fist-pumping crowd: "Because we never took our eyes off the ultimate prize, we stand where we are today," he intoned, witnesses tells Us. "We are in this together!"

When a choir took to the stage, the Cruise-Holmes family stood up with the rest of the audience. "Tom was swaying and looked like he was in heaven," an attendee tells Us. "He was really, really into it. Katie was next to him doing her best to look as enthusiastic. She was clapping along with the
song, but was totally out of sync. Suri was standing by, looking a little bemused in a cute little party dress."

Seated nearby, the Travolta and Preston -- still mourning the death of son Jett and dealing with a related extortion trial -- were more muted. "John and Kelly were holding hands throughout the performance," an onlooker says. "They look like a very united couple."

Later, during a reception, Cruise was overheard chatting with another American man about the protesters outside the venue. "They're squirrels," Cruise said angrily, according to a witness. "Stuck in an electronic incident. It makes me so angry!"

The family left the party around 11 p.m.; they have a home in nearby Dormans Park.

This article is pretty funny - a "secret" event with 4000 (closer to 8000) attending? I guess calling it "private to group members" isn't as big a push-button to the haters. The choice of words used here is quite revealing. As far as the beliefs of Scientology, how about doing them the same courtesy YOU would want? As them. Get a book by the found and read it, talk to Scientologists. Looking at some of the sources listed in the comments is exactly the same as asking the Nazis about Judaism.

Scientology is NOT a RELIGION, it is a CULT and a dangerous cult at that! Do your own research into this cult, you would never 'respect' Tom Cruise, Katy Holmes, you'd be scared to death for Suri Cruise to be raised in that mess, John Travolta and that crackpot Kirstie Ally. They think they are 'higher beings' but they are brainwashed and their wallets have been fleeced. TC is very high up on the Scientology ladder.

If you want the truth about the cult of Scientology, start by research "Operation Snow White". Scientology is a clear and present danger. Thank dog the more the scam is exposed the more the cult is failing.

hello to who it may consurn,as a member of scientology back a few years ago.i found it to be very misleading and judgmental on alot of issues.i personaly thought it was designed to pull money away from you.in large amounts.two become what thay call clear,it cost huge amount of money.for the average person like myself that did not have alot.thay just took all thay could get out of me. and then discarded me like some dirty shirt.very nice religon dont you agree?

""Loaded Language" is one of Robert J. Lifton's Eight Conditions of Thought Reform -- an essential part of any effective brainwashing program. The cult-speak may include a bunch of well-worn slogans, which Lifton called "thought-terminating clichés. The special words constrict rather than expand human understanding, and the slogans stop thought. Beginners have to learn all of the new terminology in order to fit in, and understand what is being said. Then, the new language has the effect of separating the newcomer from his old world, and from his old circle of friends. His new cult friends will tell him that "Only another cult member understands", and it will be true. When he babbles nothing but cult-speak, nobody but another cult member will be able to understand." - orange-papers.org

WOW! US weekly deleted a message in defense of Scientology. And a message which corrects the wrong stuff in their article. I Will try again. TOM CRUISE, did NOT speak at the Scientology event! Only Chairman of the Board, RTC, MR. David Miscavige did so! I know, i was there!!! I and (not 4000) but 8000 other Scientologists can verify that! Good night!
  • October 25, 2009 - 5:02pm MG Says:

This is the most stupid article i have read. Tom didn't say 1 word at the event too the crowd! The only one that spoke at the event was Chairman of the board, RTC Mr. David Miscavige. And it wasn't 4000, but 8000 Scientologists. It just gets stupid when media and other idiots try to make Scientology look bad. Beacuse you fail. We as Scientologists know what it is, what we do, the good Scientology does in the community...and we dont care what you people say! Now please, go and get a life!

Tom Cruise doesn't even speak English anymnnre, he speaks scientologese. What a loser.

One thing is for sure. There sure are a lot of bigots out there. If they say it works for them and they really believe in it, then let them. If we want a society that tells people what to believe then go to Iran or China and see how you like it. Then come back and see if you still feel the same.

SEE! I told you so! ABC Nightline tonight got the real story out! Critics need to shut up! Friday October 23, 2009 is going to even feature Tom Cruise along with his best man and best friend from his wedding! David Miscavige is the greatest! Leader of the Church of Scientology = Pope for Catholics!

US is a rag mag. Most of what they publish are out and out lies. The rest are misquotes and out of context statements. You who are reacting to this article (term used lightly) are not very discerning, you certainly don't know Tom, and it looks like you might just dislike the guy and will jump on anything showing him in a negative light. I've found that negative people usually have lives that suck.
  • October 22, 2009 - 11:27pm S.P. Says:

What kind of a religion has a secret police force and intelligence gathering apparatus? Scientology is known to infiltrate governments, blackmail officials, and commit fraud. These are historical FACTS. Finally, this criminal organization, which operates under the guise of a religion, is being exposed as a dangerous scam. Tom Cruise, John Travolta and other ufo-cultists are directly responsible for the oppression of thousands of unwitting victims; their million dollar tax deductible donations fund this criminal cult. Finally ex-scientologists have met their match with Anonymous and unprecedented numbers of defectors and critics.

Tom is a NUT!!! Go squirrels!!!
  • October 22, 2009 - 9:40pm bobjones@hotmail.com Says:

Tom, dear boy, wake up and smell the coffee. Those "squirrels" you are referring to have made you famous, but have now realized you are a crazy "loon". May the squirrels prevail. Go away, you crazy lunatic (get it, buddy - LOON???)
  • October 22, 2009 - 8:13pm Rob Thomas Anonymous Says:

David Micavige is the squirrel. He is getting ready to be caged. Tom will have to go visit his biker buddy in jail. Sorry Tom, but your idea of Scientology is not what actually is. You are PTS! You will soon have a cognition. Vanilla Sky in real life.

People should watch ABC Nightline on October 22, 2009. They will be giving a better look at Scientology. I'm sure it will be a very positive review and all those critics can then shut up!
  • October 22, 2009 - 3:10pm Mary McConnell Says:

The "squirrels" catch is just too funny, and sadly, something a scientologist would say and mean it, even though it's propaganda. I wonder if Travolta knows about Nancy Many, former member and former President of Scientology's Celebrity Center new book just out. I just finished reading "My Billion Year Contract - Memoirs of a Former Scientologist". Besides her personal horror story and that of others, there's lots of details on how Scientology goes after, regulates and manipulates the celebrities for promotion purposes. Celebrities and wannabees are big money for the cult.
  • October 22, 2009 - 2:58pm sallyrover Says:

I am happily and proudly on Team Squirrel then--Tom can stay on Team Nut and squander his talent, fortune, and the sanity of his child. Scientology is a racket, and those that follow it should be pitied, but when they get their kids involved, it has serious consequences--as Travolta learned too late. If Jett had had proper, realistic care, it might not have come down the way that it did. I wish his family peace, and freedom from the shills and blackmail that defines the sad, vain-glorious, greedy cult that is Scientology. Get out now, John--we'll love you more. Tom, I hope you go down with all the other "Morons For L. Ron."
