  No disrespect to Taylor's fans out there, but while I admire the girl's enthusiasm, attitude and potential for songwriting, her musical (read: vocal) range isn't very extensive; I heard her live, and...wasn't too impressed. But hey, maybe that's just me. As for winning the award, maybe the old bird's right: maybe it was too much too soon. An artist should be encouraged, absolutely, but they should also be allowed to grow. Where really, can she go from here now that she's won one of the most prestigious awards in the country music industry? It is a valid question. Don't shoot me, boo me or throw tomatoes at me. I come in peace. :)

Nobody keers 'boutcher old-fashioned country music idols, They're talkin' 'bout Taylor Swift, now. She's open'd up a whole new genre of music to the new crowd, and rightfully deserves to be addressed as "Entertainer of the Year". Go to work now, and when you see Wynone-a, you make sure to cozy right up to that oversized poop-chute she hauls around with her sloppy self!

  You go Wy! Lets face it. Taylor is a product of Scott Borchata and his pull and marketing abilities in Nashville period. I know 100 girls 20 years or younger who can write and sing 1000 times better and are just as cute. Scott saw the oppourtunity to market to the millions of kids of baby boomers and saw the success of the disney kids ( Jonas, and Miley) and marketed his way to entertainer of the year with Taylor. Lets face it. The girl cannot sing and does not deserve to be with the likes of George Strait, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Loretta Lynn, Martina McBride etc... etc... as a part of the prestigous group of entertainer of the year in COUNTRY MUSIC. Lets face it. Country Music will remember Folsom Prison Blues and Amarillo by morning. But I doubt anyone over the age of 20 can sing you the lyrics of a Taylor Swift song after next year.

  Wynnoa is absolutely correct! It is not because she is bitter, washed up or fat as being commented upon in the blogs. What is wrong with people? When do you earn your dues? Perhaps if all these young whippersnappers under the age of 20 would not be allowed to vote this wouldn't happen. Taylor Swift looks like Paris Hilton in the picture on this site with her chest stuck out. Did you not notice she really CANNOT sing? Her voice sounds the same monotone throughout each song. People work hard all their lives to get where they are and some never make it. Look at the hard work of Dolly, Wynonna, Reba and all the country greats. Taylor is not a country great but a fan favorite for the 12 year olds who do not know work ethics. I would love to see this change as there are too many like her and Carrie Underwood who do not understand years of hard work. Fame to them is instant. Miley Cyrus is in this category as well. I can't stand her singing.

  Taylor Swift does not really sing she sounds like she talks to the sound of music, the awards are not deserved. Not with all the other great artists in the room, but don't worry it will only go down hill for her as she gets older and the fans get older and smarter.

  Well I think that she is a very good artist, one of the VERY FEW who actually writes and does almost everything her own way. she's very good at what she does and has appeal to a few different categories of music. I think just because she's young doesn't make her not worthy of the award. I think it should go to whoever the fans vote for, not just based on age. Just because she's young doesn't mean she doesn't have a lot of talent.

  Winnona seems to forget that she was 18 when she and her mom hit big. So now that she is older and a big has been with a really sucky life she feels the need to chime in, I don't think so!! What she needs to do is shut up and go away again this time for good. I'm not a big Taylor Swift fan but she earned the awards especially Entertainer of the year so let her be. Carrie should not have butted in.
