Adam Levine accidentally hit a fan on the head with is microphone.

One Maroon 5 fan got one unexpected wake-up call in the middle of the band's concert this week. A young woman named Stephanie Green was taking in Maroon 5's show in Toronto on Monday, March 16, when the music literally hit her over the head.

The incident started when frontman Adam Levine's microphone went out. The crooner, 36, repeatedly tapped on the mic to check for progress before he tossed it aside in frustration.

In a moment Levine seemingly did not think through, the mic hit the stage and bounced right onto Green's head. The audience members next to her gasped as the singer realized just what he had done.

"The P.A. system crashed and no one could hear and then all of a sudden he dropped the mic, [and it] flew in my direction," Green told Toronto's CityNews

The Grammy winner immediately rushed over to the injured woman and made sure she was okay before lifting her up onto the stage. He put his arm around the recovered fan and held her hand, getting her settled before he explained the situation to the crowd.

"Our first album came out in 2002, not one time in the history of our band's career — which I can barely even believe exists — not one time has the P.A. failed," Levine said. "Not one time, until tonight. In my flustered state, I might have thrown my microphone on the ground and then it might have bounced off of the ground, into poor, sweet Stephanie’s face… I felt so utterly terribly that I had perhaps wounded this young fan."

"So I brought her on stage," he added. "She is now enjoying the concert from the side of the stage, as she should be. What we're gonna do is, we're just gonna pretend that none of that happened."

While Green was left with an impressive bump on her forehead, she told the local newspaper that she couldn't have been happier with the fluke accident.

"It's just literally the best day," Green told the CityNews. "My dream come true. I never thought in a million years this would happen to me."
