Courtney Robertson: Ben Flajnik “Was Not Happy” With My Tell-All Book

Courtney Robertson spoke about her ex Ben Flajnik.

Not-so-happily ever after. In 2012, Arizona-based model Courtney Robertson won the 16th season of The Bachelorette and Bachelor Ben Flajnik‘s heart, accepting a proposal from the reality star in the season finale. Just three years later, however, the two are not exactly on great terms.

Robertson and Flajnik never made it down the aisle, calling off their engagement just a few months after their proposal in October 2012. Their relationship soured even further last year, when Robertson released a tell-all book called I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain about her time on the dating show and their tumultuous romance including a talked-about cheating scandal

“The only backlash I got was from Ben himself,” Robertson, 31, told Us Weekly at the Lifetime and Us Weekly-hosted premiere party for UnReal in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, May 20. “I did hear from him. He was not happy. I got a couple of emails. I actually didn’t respond to his last email but I wish him well. He has moved on and I’ve moved on.”

Not only has Robertson moved on in her romantic life, the divisive star has also found a new career. After modeling and her stint as an author, she has since settled in as a realtor for luxury real estate. She told Us that she still gets recognized at work and her time on the ABC series helps her sell houses.

“I was holding an open house over the weekend and now, it’s more like, ‘I think I’ve met you before!’ It’s not the instant recognition like it was 3 years ago. I’m like, ‘Oh yeah! Maybe you saw me at the gym or something,'” she told Us. “I think the Bachelor, everybody loves it.  It’s definitely a bonding topic. I went to a meeting this morning and everyone was talking about the new season and what do you think and it definitely brings people together.”

The successful businesswoman added to Us that she’s been tuning in this season, watching Kaitlyn Bristowe be named the Bachelorette and handle the unexpected arrival of former contestant Nick Viall. Originally a competitor on Andi Dorfman‘s season of The Bachelorette, Viall was shown in the season 11 teaser arriving to vie for Bristowe’s heart.

“I know if it was me and I was a contestant, I would probably have a s–t fit,” Robertson said of seeing an alum join the competition. “I did when a girl came back. I was like, ‘Oh hell to the no!’ I think it looks like he goes far so I think that’s going to be controversial.”
