Before they cruised, this duo played ball. Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley will perform at the inaugural Kids' Choice Sports Awards next month, the duo tells Us Weekly exclusively.
"Both of us grew up playing sports," Hubbard tells Us, "and to be a part of celebrating kids' favorite players is awesome!" His partner-in-crime Kelley adds: "I played baseball up through college, and my coaches, teammates and pro-players were some of the most-influential role models in my life."
The two say they are "pumped" to perform at the first-ever awards show, which will be hosted by former pro-football player and current Live! co-host Michael Strahan. Athletes like NBA superstar Kevin Durant, Olympic gymnast and viral meme subject McKayla Maroney, and Super Bowl XLVIII champ Marshawn Lynch are also expected to appear at the ceremonies, which currently lead the list of nominees.
Both Hubbard and Kelley were winners at the 2014 CMT Music Awards earlier this month in Nashville, where they took home buckles for Duo Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year. Their performance at the Kids' Choice Sports Awards will be televised live on Nickelodeon, Thursday, July 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
