She's full of tricks! Katy Perry released a teaser for her upcoming "Birthday" music video two days before its official release. In the clip, the singer is unrecognizable as she introduces a slew of "insane" characters.
"Meet my INSANE friends - Goldie, Yosef, Kriss, Ace, and Mandee!" the 29-year-old tweeted on Monday, April 21. "#MakeItLikeYourBirthday this THURSDAY!" She added: "Guys. The video for #Birthday is the most insane one I've ever done."
Indeed, in her latest video Perry transforms into an elderly woman with huge, ahem, assets, a freaky clown, and more. "My name is Goldie because of my golden nuggets," she jokes in the preview, titled "World's Worst Birthday Party Entertainers." Dressed as Yosef Shulem "The MC" she adds: "I do Bar Mitzvahs, I do weddings, I don't do funerals but for a price I'll do your funeral."
Perry's costume changes didn't just stay in a studio, however. The "Dark Horse" entertainer went as far as faking a car crash at a 5-year-old's birthday party for the video while going undercover as a clown, TMZ reports. Onlookers apparently didn't know it was prank, and some of the guests looked "visibly upset."
Her reasoning for the wacky new video? "I was sick of making gorgeous music videos where I'm sexual," Perry said during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, April 21.
"Birthday" premieres Thursday, April 24.
