The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story is currently in the works, Lifetime confirmed to Us Weekly, and will follow the soap from early casting decisions to the wild and crazy soap opera twists for which the show became known.

According to a Lifetime rep, "Drawing from true stories and anecdotes from interviews with the original cast and crew, The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story will highlight the remarkable behind-the-scenes moments that shaped the series — from early casting drama and Heather Locklear arriving to 'save' Melrose Place to the actors begging its writers for even wilder story lines to make them fan favorites."

The show, which debuted in 1992 as a companion for Fox's other soapy hit, Beverly Hills, 90210, lasted through various cast permutations and seven seasons until it ended in 1999.

No word on a premiere date or what memorable moments the film will recreate, but here's hoping it's as dramatic as Marcia Cross' wig removal. After the success of its Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, Lifetime also greenlit unauthorized Beverly Hills, 90210 and Full House films.
