“Myself, Beyonce, and Kelly we were walking into our hotel. Bobby Brown was in the hotel lobby, and he said ‘My wife loves you girls!’” Williams recalled. “She comes and starts singing ‘Say My Name.’”

The gospel singer, 34, did her best to stay calm as one of her idols performed her hit 1999 tune.

“I stayed normal because it’s nerve-wracking for me when someone sees me and they freak out,” she explained. “So I don’t do that to other people. I went to my hotel room. I got the pillow, put it to my face, and just went into convulsions and screams of joy.”

Not only did the legendary singer sing their song to them, but she also offered up some sage advice.

“We couldn’t believe that she was singing “Say My Name” and then she was encouraging us,” Williams continued. “She said, ‘Y’all stay together, stick together, love each other.’”

Though the three girls have remained close friends through the years — briefly reuniting on stage at Beyonce’s 2013 Super Bowl performance — the group went on a permanent hiatus in 2000 to pursue their own solo careers.
