Who needs Zayn?! One Direction joined James Corden for an epic version of Carpool Karaoke and the British show host slipped perfectly into the space left by Zayn Malik‘s departure.
The amazing 13-minute segment not only showcased the boy band’s awesome a capella abilities and Corden’s talent for hitting the high notes (and rapping!) — it also gave the cheeky Late Late Show host an opportunity to tease Niall Horan about his relationship with Selena Gomez during a game of Sleep With, Marry, Cruise.
“One person you’ve got to go on a cruise with for a year, sharing a room. You spend every minute of every day with them, but you do not sleep with them. One of them you marry, and the other one you just sleep with one time,” Corden explained. “So, Niall, your three are Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Tina Fey.”
Horan was quick with his response. “That’s a pretty good three,” he replied with a grin. “ Sleep with Tina Fey, marry Gomez and go on a cruise with Demi Lovato.”
Games and chat aside, the musical highlight had to be the fivesome’s rendition of the new 1D song, “Drag Me Down” — both for Corden’s epic rap addition and Harry Styles’ awesomely powerful singing (which nearly deafened fellow passenger Liam Payne)!
“That’s what I’m saying,” shrieked an elated Corden. “I can bring something to the band, boys!”
