‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ Recap: Dolores Catania Tells Jacqueline Laurita ‘F‑‑k You’

If you’re wearing a shirt that reads “Namast’ay Away From Me” to a friend’s housewarming party, it might be time to reevaluate some of those friendships. On the Sunday, October 23, episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jacqueline Laurita was still reeling from the fight with Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice in Vermont. Jacqueline’s emotions were the least of Teresa’s problems, however, as she struggled to maintain some level of normalcy for her four daughters after their father went to prison.

On the first day without Joe Giudice at home, Melissa and Joe Gorga came over with their kids to have dinner with Teresa’s family. As Melissa and Teresa caught up, Teresa admitted she missed Joe already. “I think it’s going to get harder and then you’re going to get used to it,” Melissa offered. Teresa said it was just a tough “transition,” but kept her chin up, as she tends to do. It was clear, though, that Milania, in particular, was having a hard time adjusting to life without her dad.

“There’s definitely stress. I am doing the best that I can,” Teresa confessed to the camera. “Seeing my daughters hurt, that breaks my heart.”

Dolores Is the Hostess With the Mostess

“I’m 45 and starting my life all over again,” Dolores Catania explained, noting that renovating her house was a huge step forward in the process. To celebrate her achievement of completing her renovation (which was largely funded by her ex-husband … but whatever), she threw a housewarming party. Though there were rumblings of concern over having Jacqueline, Melissa and Teresa in the same room, it turned out to be a nonissue because Teresa canceled at the last minute, opting to stay home with her daughters instead. While Melissa said she had “absolutely no desire to see Jacqueline,” she didn’t cause a scene about it, which Dolores clearly appreciated.

The party was well attended and guests included Dolores’ mom, ex-husband and 102-year-old grandmother, along with Siggy Flicker and her kids; Jacqueline and Chris; Kathy; Richie and Rosie Wakile; and Kim D. (yes, the perpetual troublemaker). In a surprising twist, however, Joe Gorga and Chris ended up having a heart-to-heart.

Joe and Chris Discuss Their Wives’ Fight

During the party, Chris pulled Joe aside to discuss what had transpired between their wives. Chris said he thought that Jacqueline ended up in the middle and didn’t get a chance to tell her side of the story. He also said he was disappointed that Joe hadn’t reached out to say he was sorry about what happened. Joe responded by saying he had no idea Chris was even upset, but that he respected that Chris had stood up for his wife.

That said, Joe argued that when one of their wives was wrong, her husband needed to tell her, “Listen, you were a little out of line.” In Joe’s mind, Jacqueline had been in the wrong and Chris should have said something. Joe thought Jacqueline went “buck wild” on Melissa, while Chris said she had merely been defending herself.

Ultimately, Joe dismissed the whole thing as a silly “girl fight” and the two vowed to try to get their wives together to make up. (Good luck with that.)

Ladies’ Night Leads to More Drama

As another part of her life changes, Dolores had assumed more responsibility of the gym she owned, spearheading a ladies’ night event to drum up more business. Though Jacqueline had initially helped Dolores recruit guests and pass out flyers, she couldn’t make the actual event because she was very under the weather. Dolores called Jacqueline to let her know she was thinking of her — and that led to drama later on.

While Siggy and Dolores drove to Melissa’s fashion show for Envy, they discussed what happened with Jacqueline following the ladies’ night. “She’s accusing me of setting her up and making her look like she was a no-show,” Dolores explained to a stunned Siggy. “She’s twisting it around and telling people it’s because I didn’t put her on the flyer.” (Instead, Dolores had put Teresa and Siggy on the flyer. Teresa had taught a yoga class and Siggy had given a short talk about finding your best life during the event.)

“Her and I exchanged words,” Dolores continued. “They weren’t nice. ‘F‑‑k you,’ I said, actually.” Dolores then tried explaining what exactly had caused their rift, which was something about how Jacqueline thought Dolores was trying to make her look bad.

In any case, they were in a fight. “I’ve heard nothing but her badmouthing me from last night until today,” Dolores said, adding that Jacqueline had now managed to further alienate herself from the group. “I’m not going to be a whipping post,” Dolores added. “I’m not going to call her.”

Siggy thought Jacqueline was “paranoid. “Dolores would never set up Jacqueline,” Siggy said to the camera. To Dolores, Siggy added, “[Jacqueline’s] got to cut the shit. I agree with you on that.”
