Lacey Chabert’s Laura Beth Almost Catches Billy Ray Cyrus’ Pastor Vernon in Bed With a Woman on ‘Still the King’

Not a Mean Girl anymore! Us Weekly has the exclusive sneak peak of Mean Girls actress Lacey Chabert in the second episode of CMT’s new show Still the King, starring Billy Ray Cyrus, which premiered on Sunday, June 12.

Chabert plays Laura Beth, the Goody Two-shoes head of the church’s booster committee. In the clip, she eagerly knocks on the door of Cyrus’ character Vernon, a washed-up country singer and Elvis impersonator who is pretending to be the congregation’s new pastor.

“A blessed morning to you, Pastor. You may have seen me scurrying around here like a little church mouse,” she says as she introduces herself. “Are you feeling OK, pastor? Because you’re looking a tad discombobulated.”

“I’m feeling fine,” Vernon replies.

While she tries to poke her head inside his room, Vernon is trying to quickly — but kindly — get rid of her before she sees the naked woman in his bed (which is definitely not acceptable behavior for a minister).

In the episode, which airs on Sunday, June 19, Vernon’s parole officer (played by Kevin Farley) unexpectedly shows up at the church to check on him, so Vernon asks Walt for help hiding his impostor identity. Plus, Vernon’s baby mama, Debbie, gets jealous of their daughter Charlotte’s newfound relationship and gets the 15-year-old to volunteer at the craft fair.
