Nine years later, she’s making a comeback… again! The short-lived but adored HBO docuseries The Comeback, starring Lisa Kudrow as former sitcom star Valerie Cherish, has gotten an opportunity few shows get — the chance to try again. Living up to its name, the series has been renewed for a second season after the first season aired in 2005.
In the new trailer, Valerie excitedly announces that she’s been cast in an HBO show, but quickly gets an ego check when she learns that the network has cast her in the role of “neurotic older sitcom actress.”
In addition to the Friends alum, 51, stars Lance Barber (Paulie G.), Robert Michael Morris (Mickey Deane), Laura Silverman (Jane), Damian Young (Mark Berman), Malin Akerman (Juna Millken), and Kellan Lutz (Chris MacNess) will all be returning for the show’s second season.
“What is this, The Comeback comeback?” Valerie is asked at one point during the clip. And from the looks of her upcoming antics, it might just be!
