Actor, director, karaoke superstar, and American treasure Vin Diesel is at it again. The multitalented star, 47, got back on the mic this week to perform one of his famed covers of chart-topping songs.
Diesel was promoting his new movie Guardians of the Galaxy in a publicity interview with Capital FM, when the UK radio station asked him to sing Sam Smith‘s emotional ballad “Stay With Me.”
The actor rose to the occasion, sporting a pair of sunglasses as he belted the lyrics to the hit, which were provided for him. “Guess it’s true, I’m not good at a one-night stand / But I still need love cause I’m just a man / These nights never seem to go to plan / I don’t want you to leave, will you hold my hand?” Diesel crooned in his deep baritone voice.
Smith, 22, was delighted by the performance, tweeting on Wednesday morning, July 30, “Vin Diesel just covered Stay With Me. Surreal. Thanks man haha.” He added to Capital FM, “First of all I thought it was going to be good, but when I heard it it’s the most hilarious thing I’ve heard in my life. It’s amazing. Brilliant. The falsetto!”
“Stay With Me” is just the latest musical performance from the Fast & Furious star. He previously took on Rihanna‘s “Stay” and busted moves to Beyonce‘s “Drunk in Love” and Katy Perry‘s “Dark Horse.”
