Get Kate Bosworth’s Hair Look From Vanity Fair Oscars Party

There's the Oscars and then there's the party after the Oscars, which I think would be more fun to attend than the actual awards show itself! As the hottest ticket in town, the Vanity Fair party is well attended by stars of all stature, whether or not they were in a nominated film of the year. (Note to Vanity Fair: please invite me next year!)

Of course my favorite eye candy is the hot hair and makeup looks worn by the stars. One of the looks I can't wait to copy was worn by beyond gorgeous Kate Bosworth — a simple slicked back updo that anyone can pull off in seconds. Bosworth's hair pro, Laini Reeves, clued Us Weekly in on how to get the look.

To create the polished style, Reeves first applied Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment to wet hair, thoroughly saturating each strand from root to tip.

"The formula absorbs instantly without weighing down hair and imparts a natural luster and shine," Reeves tells Us. After hair was dry, Reeves backcombed a section at the crown to add lift, then used a Mason Pearson brush to smooth locks back into a ponytail, fastening at the nape. The finishing touch: the ponytail was divided into two and wrapped around the base to create a rope effect then pinned into place with bobbies.
