Mom hair, don’t care! Jennifer Garner admitted to having “mom-chic” hair while presenting an award to her hairstylist of 15 years — Adir Abergel — at the first-ever Marie Claire Image Maker Awards at Chateau Marmont in L.A. on Tuesday, January 12.
Although Garner, 43, was blown away by the roped braid Abergel created for Rooney Mara at the 2016 Golden Globes, she has faith he’d never take such risks on her own head. “I have no funk. It would not go,” the Miracles from Heaven star said. “But he knows that. And he knows how to give me mussed-up, undone mom-chic. He gets me. He gets my hair.”
Abergel, who works with Reese Witherspoon and Anne Hathaway, also knows how to give Garner, who split from Ben Affleck in July, confidence. “When all is said and done, and he’s sprayed you into place, you kind of look in the mirror and go, ‘Ah, wow. Thank you. Oh, that’s lovely. I wish I had a date!'”
Garner raves about Abergel’s professional talents, but it’s his friendship that she counts on the most. “[When] all else fails, like the bottom drops out of your life, you call Adir,” she explained.
Throughout the festivities, an insider tells Us Weekly, Garner looked happier than ever and was absolutely radiant in her platform heels and silver Prada dress. “She couldn’t stop smiling as she chatted with girlfriends at the party,” they observed.
