Before tending to hair and makeup, Hough begins her day with a big gulp of hydration. “My morning beauty routine is to wake up and have a really big glass of water,” she explained. “I shower, I shave with my new Venus Swirl, wash my face with Proactiv, and then I brush my teeth.” And the quick remedy for chapped lips? “I love lip balm; La Mer lip balm is my favorite.”

Water, in fact, is Hough’s biggest beauty secret. “[Stay] hydrated and always drink water,” she told Us. “Have you ever seen the lady that had the comparison were she drank a gallon of water every day for a month? The before-and-after picture is insane. She didn’t change her diet, she didn’t do anything different but her whole skin, her radiance, her glow [changed], so for me water is huge.”

The quick-stepping Dancing With the Stars judge, who will appear in the FOX production of Grease Live with Vanessa Hudgens, airing January 2016, wants to be known for more than her moves.

Julianne Hough hosts a dance-off with DanceOn’s Jasmine Meakin to celebrate the NEW Gillette Venus Swirl Razor.

“I was always labeled as ‘the dancer’ or ‘a dancer’ and I always felt like there was more to me than just dancing,” she told Us. “I sing, I act, I do other things but it’s always about who I am.” That’s why she partnered with Gillette Venus Swirl for the brand’s new “#UseYourAnd” campaign. The program addresses how young women are labeled throughout childhood, which has proven to limit their potential later in life.
