Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell faced a scary on-field injury as the team faced off against the Minnesota Vikings.

Campbell was seemingly “immobilized” after a tackle against Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson during the game at Detroit’s Ford Field on Sunday, November 1. (The Lions ultimately won 19-15 over the Vikings.)

The Lions’ athletic training staff swarmed Campbell, who did not appear to be able to move after the fall. He was then placed onto a backboard and transported to a local hospital.

“Heavy emotions in Detroit,” Michigan sportscaster Brad Galli wrote via X. “All the Lions players and coaches surrounded Jack Campbell before he was carted off at Ford Field.”

Campbell, an All-American college athlete during his time on the Iowa Hawkeyes, was selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
