Keira Knightley had the blues at the Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Posing on the red carpet with costar Chris Pine, the British actress, 28, matched her navy Chanel dress with blue smoky eyes. Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee created the smoldering look for Knightley using Chanel products. "I wanted to keep her looking more of the moment, and so we went for a navy creamy smudged eye," Lee told Us Weekly. "The dress was quite formal, and with a red lip it may have looked almost uniform, so I decided to do the eye to make her appear a little more mysterious."

Using Le Crayon Khol Intense Eye Pencil in Marine, Lee lined the inside of the eye and the upper and lower lash lines before blending. "Next I reached for Chanel Limited Edition Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Apparitiion, which is a beautiful shimmering navy to melt away the lines and give a soft effect," Lee revealed. "Blue powder pigment can be tricky, so I would recommend trying a cream shadow like the one I used, because it's easier to blend and take away what you don't need." She finished by curling the lashes and applying one coat of Inimitable Mascara in Noir.

To balance out the drama of her eyes, Lee chose a natural pink lip color, using Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour in Mademoiselle.

The recently-wed Knightley is no stranger to Chanel; she has been a longtime Chanel ambassador and the face of the fashion house's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance.
