No one’s denying that pregnant Blake Lively‘s maternity style has been on point while she makes the rounds in NYC to discuss her latest movie, The Shallows. But we need a moment to appreciate her enviable hairstyles too.
Especially because the Cafe Society actress, 28, just made perms seem cool again. Lively, who Us Weekly confirmed in April was expecting baby No. 2 with husband Ryan Reynolds, stepped out on Wednesday, June 22, with perfect ’80s-era ringlet curls. Her trusted celeb stylist Rob Ortega parted her voluminous tresses to one side and let them flow free around her shoulders. The look was the perfect addition to the two outfits she wore that day: a denim minidress with sport-coat sleeves and a midi-length Versace frock with a tiny cutout just above her baby bump.
And that wasn’t the Gossip Girl alum’s only #HairGoals moment of the week. At the NYC premiere of The Shallows on June 21, Lively slicked her strands back into a sleek power ponytail that looked even thicker and healthier than normal, thanks to the addition of Mane Addicts extensions. Her futuristic tresses were the finishing touch to her edgy outfits: a Carolina Herrera corseted dress and David Koma afterparty look.
Lively also switched it up earlier on June 21 while stopping by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. There, she wore a spunky ’tail that featured volume up top and teased curls throughout, which completed a bright blue off-the-shoulder dress by Cushnie Et Ochs.
The mother of James, 18 months, started the week off right on June 20, with soft, tousled waves that fell below her chest. She donned this ’do with an Elie Saab nude minidress in the morning and a cheerful yellow Jenny Packham gown, paired with a casual Madewell jean jacket, in the afternoon.
Despite her seemingly around-the-clock enviable tresses, when Lively travels, she faces the same frustrating problem as the rest of Us. “All the stuff I love — my pots of creams, my shampoos, my conditioners and all that — you have to put them in the little containers and hope the containers don’t explode,” she told Vogue of her jet-setting beauty woes at Cannes. “So I’m going to petition for L’Oreal to make an Extraordinary Oil that is travel-sized. They should do a full travel-sized version of everything. I feel like TSA is really c-blocking it. I don’t understand.”
