Nobody messes with Duchess Kate’s hair—unless you’re Prince William, that is!
The Duke of Cambridge, 32, brought some holiday cheer to Centrepoint in London on Wednesday, Dec. 17—and when he started talking about his wife Kate Middleton‘s hair, some laughs, too!
The royal, who’s second in line to the throne, met with volunteers and young visitors at the facility, including one aspiring hairdresser named Angel. While chatting with the 20-year-old trainee, Prince William proclaimed that she should attempt styling Middleton’s “nightmare hair.”

Soon enough, Angel realized that he wasn’t joking either! “[Prince William] was asking us all about Centrepoint—how we were doing with our courses and all that sort of stuff. Then suddenly he asked whether I could help out with Kate’s hair, because it’s such a nightmare,” the young student told Us Weekly. “I didn’t think he was serious at first—I couldn’t believe it.”
Even though Angel said that the Prince lamented Middleton’s hair as being “so long and thick, it’s a bit of an issue,” the aspiring stylist shared that she’d love to get her hands on the Duchess’ lush locks. “It would be amazing to do Kate’s hair, because it’s so flawless,” Angel said.
“To me, her hair always looks perfect, like no effort goes into it at all—but it obviously must take time to make it look so good. I think any girl would love to do Kate’s hair though,” Angel added. (Of course, that gig belongs to Middleton’s full-time stylist, Amanda Cook Tucker, who is responsible for the royal’s signature bouncy waves—and occasional updo.)
The affair wasn’t simply hairy business, though! As a patron of Centrepoint since 2005, Prince William, who shared a healthy breakfast with those at the center, visited the spot as part of his ongoing tour of the charity’s many homes.
“It’s an emotional time [of year]. The Duke of Cambridge’s visit provided a huge boost for all the young people he met ahead of Christmas,” Centrepoint’s chief executive, Seyi Obakin, shared.
