Cancer-Stricken Michael C. Hall: "I'm on the Road to Recovery"

When Michael C. Hall won a Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Television Drama, the Dexter star made no mention of cancer, but backstage, he told reporters that he was "on the road to recovery" after secretly battling Hodgkin's lymphoma.

"I had every intention of keeping it quiet, but because the award shows were imminent, I figured I'd make a statement," said the 38-year-old actor, who said in a statement last week that he was nearing the end of his treatment and that his disease was now in remission.
He added: "It was nice to be able to make a statement with my treatment that I was able to assure people that I was really on the road to recovery."

Hall also revealed an unexpected benefit of sharing his cancer story with the general public.
"It is nice to have a justifiable excuse for accessorizing," he joked of his black cap.

He told reporters that his Japanese hat was "pretty simple but maybe a little fancier than your normal thing."

Dexter is the best show on TV. My uncle was in remission for 24 years and in the 60's they barely knew how to treat Hodgkin's. I am looking forward to many more years of my favorite show! Stay strong.

It will be 27 years in March that my son was diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin's Disease. He is alive and well and we are all thrilled. Good luck with your fight. You will be better than new. I promise!
Michale is an amazing actor,, i love dexter,, i myself also battled cancer when i was 18 and won,, he is a strong man,, i love him as an actor,, he will be ok,, and in my prayers

I was shocked to hear that Michael C. Hall is battling cancer. He is a wonderful actor and seems like a wonderful person. I wish him and his wife (the woman who plays his sister on Dexter) the best. I look forward to another season. I look forward to seeing Michael on the television screen for many years to come!

Anyone who watches Dexter knows that Michael deserved his award. (As did John Lithgow who was AMAZING this season). Michael seems like such a nice guy and so classy in the way he has dealt with his cancer. I wish him all the bnest for the future in his health, life and career. LOVE Dexter!
