Exclusive: Why Angelina Jolie Is Starving Herself

Unlike some of her peers, Angelina Jolie's pin thin frame has nothing to do with vanity.

The U.N. goodwill ambassador, 36, who travels the globe meeting the poor, "puts herself on fasts to make statements for the children she visits," a Jolie source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands Friday).

"She says, 'If they can't eat, I can't eat,'" the source adds. The busy mother of six "does different cleanses from around the world. It's very dramatic, but that's how she gets."
The actress -- currently promoting her directorial debut, In the Land of Blood and Honey -- has partner Brad Pitt, 47, worrying about her health, says a second insider.

On another note, she has had fainting spells from not eating, while promoting that horrible movie Tourist. Much of the time she is on some type of perscription medication, painkiller types. This is evident in her eyes as her pupils are pinpoint in many photos. She definetly needs some "head banger" help. You can tell she is overwhelmed, that is a shame since she has the resources to overcome that. She is definitely a kind and generous human being and I am sure we all pray she continues her good works for many years to come.
She is an anorexic plain and simple. If she was actually using that excuse any Phsy will call her on it. If she continues starving herself, she is injuring her internal organs. But hey, if she wants to "make a statement (that is so laughable)" She and her brood should stop buying villas in countries that do no care one way or the other is they "grace" that country with their presence. She is in constant competition with the other starlets and wealthy women she associates with. Sad really. Her father was concerned and she shut him out, now he has no choice but to watch her slowing run her ownself into the hospital, before she runs herself 6 ft under.

You are nuts, and should seek some mental help. She never said that she is starving herself to help her children, a "source" said that. You should know by now that not everything that magazines say are true, most of the time the stories come from people who just want to make money off of these celebrities. 15 years? You have to be kidding with this comment. More like 15 years, sweetie. She talks about her family all of the time, it is clear that they are her priority. It doesn't even make sense to say that pr is her priority, considering this story is just stupid. Your comment lacks knowledge, once again. or let's worry about those in the world who are truly starving! Why is it that the media has to focus on one girl who is thinner than an average Bronx lady, and get all freaked out???

she cant marry because all people cannot marry and now she cannot eat because all people cannot eat.. This women is nuts...how is starving herself helping starving children? This women has had her 15 minutes and should now just go away and get healthy..... Her family should be her priority not her PR....
she MUST eat it is not her choice not to, 1. for her kids, 2, for Bratt. 3. her fans. 4. her brother whom she dearly love too. so Dear Angie, you must eat to be healthy and strong for the humanitian job you have also made a choice to do. Eat and put on a little flesh and look more beautiful.
Starving herself is not going to be the best thing for her own children. Let's use some common sense. She needs to be healthy and vibrant for ALL her work.

I think she's gorgeous with perfect features. She needs to get her empathy for others under control; she needs to be healthy to truly help them.

pls she's not starving she was always this ugly and skinny...she always had a wide frame with the nastiest stick arms and legs ever...watch her movies and previous pictures , her arms and legs are filled with veins like an old lady's arms and legs...so disgusting..brad was stupid to go for this wh*re
