Exclusive: Why Bradley Cooper, Renee Zellweger Called It Quits

Their relationship seemed rock solid, so what pushed Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger to their limit? Despite rumors to the contrary, a source close to 36-year-old actor tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands now) it wasn't another woman.
"If I had to pick any possible mistress it would be Brad’s career," says the source. "He worked really hard to get into leading man status."

And it appears his efforts have paid off. Limitless, Cooper's first stint in a headlining role, took the top spot at the box office last weekend, taking in $19 million.
"Renee had to take a backseat," says the insider. "She traveled with him to make it work."

And an insider close to the Academy Award winner says that Zellweger, 41, was more than willing to try out the supporting role, even moving from New York to be closer to her man.
"She's accomplished a lot of her professional goals," says the source. "So Renee took some time out to be a great girlfriend and see if this is what it took to make a relationship work."
Despite their concessions, the couple, who met filming Case 39 in 2006 and began dating three years later, couldn't keep things together.

"She stopped fighting," says the Zellweger insider. "It was just not working out."

I agree @Jan and @ Vanessa. I too have the opinion that when you "lose" yourself and bend over backwards trying to please a guy (following him around, putting your needs 2nd, etc..)they tend to lose interest. Know why? B/c you're no longer the "you" they first met and fell for. I do really believe that most men enjoy the challenge of an independent woman who exudes that she can flourish just as well with or without him type attitude. (but not a selfish/overbearing woman-there's a difference)
Vanessa RIGHT ON IT! My thinking exactly. You DONT follow ANY guy! Its amazing SHE put herself second but WE women do that. She doesnt have to selfish JUST smarter.

Um, Chrtistine Tyler, last time I checked, Mr. No Name Actor currently has the #1 movie in America this past weekend. I think he's a little more valid than the Kardashians...
Lets be real here Renee is 41 they put you out to pasture at that age in hollywood unless you are a man. And it does not help that she has had the "I'm sucking a lemon" expression for years.
WHO CARES! Bradley is a no name actor and Renee has been going downhill for YEARS! US Weekly, stop reporting on them like they're important. The Kardashians have more validity than Bradley and Renee!
