Ciara and Future's Newborn Baby Son Is a "Mixture of Both of Us," Says Proud New Dad
Papa Future has high hopes for baby Future! Just one day after his fiancee Ciara gave birth to their son—named Future Zahir Wilburn—rapper Future told Us Weekly that both baby and mother are doing "great."
"She's feeling great," the new father, 30, told Us of the "I'm Out" singer, 28. (He spoke to reporters at the Bacardi Rum and Vice Celebrate Cuban Independence Day in NYC on Tuesday, May 20, where he had committed to perform.) "She's with our son right now [in L.A.]," the rapper-producer added. "I just texted her when I got off the airplane, and I'm going to get on the phone with her to see how everything is going."
The doting dad, gushing about his fiancee, added: "She'll be a great mom. She's working at it every day and over time, I think she'll be the best." Ciara confirmed the news of her child's birth via Facebook and Twitter on Tuesday, sharing an adorable snapshot of her newborn child's pudgy little arm.
Future Jr., according to the rapper-producer, is "a mixture of both" mom and dad.
"I want him to be better than me," Future (nee Nayvadius D. Wilburn) said of his second child. (The rapper has an 11-year-old son with model Jessica Smith.) "I would encourage him in anything he wants to do," Future said. "I want to be behind him, of course."
Before any mentoring takes place, Future will have to tackle another role first: Diaper duty. The rapper told Us he plans to get his hands dirty. "You have to say you did it," he told Us. "I'll make sure I change a few diapers—a hands-on Dad!"
Not that he minds at all. The rapper added to Us that having "baby Future" as an addition to the family is "a blessing."
