Jessica Alba has some unique advice for other expectant moms.

The 30-year-old actress recommends "hypnobirthing classes" -- which are increasingly popular among pregnant women. Hypnobirthing involves the use of hypnosis during childbirth.

"It's different for everyone, although I do recommend the hypnobirthing classes," Alba told Us Weekly on Monday at the RIMOWA store opening in Beverly Hills. "I highly recommend it. It just makes you chill."

The actress wasn't quite so "chill" before the birth of daughter Honor Marie, 2: "I was freaked out going into it my first time going into labor. Like what if I panic? What if I just freak out and I don't know what to do?"

So is the second pregnancy easier for Alba? "Oh yeah! But a little bit harder on the body because my daughter still wants to be picked up. Ever since my belly popped, she really is on me!"

I like that she is so confident in herself and in her ability to connect with her body. Hypnobirthing is a powerful tool for childbirth. If you are skeptical, check out the meditation at Grow Happy Babies. (just google it) It helps pregnant women get in the mindset for a natural childbirth. It worked for me and it could work for you too. :) Great job Jessica!

I will be using hypnobirthing as well. It is not the same as Lamaze. It is not a crock. and labor is intense but need not be painful if your mindset is right.

I'm using Hypnobabies and am loving it! Can't wait to use everything I've learned to have a calm and peaceful birth. And to those who don't understand what hypnosis for childbirth is, you're fully conscious and aware the whole time. It's not like stage hypnosis (which is FAKE hypnosis). It's just a calm and relaxed state of mind that's been *proven* to be very effective. I know several women who've done Hypnobabies and have had successful natural births!

A lot of my friends used hypnobirth. They swore by it. I'm a fan of Bradley myself. Water birth is fabulous too! I had one with my fourth baby. Warm water is a great pain reliever.

This is real. Studies were done by medical doctors years ago. They performed open heart surgery with no anesthesia on several patients by using hypnosis to block the pain.

Once the pain kicks in she'll be screaming for drugs.I tried that hynobirthing, complete rubbish.I didn't have drugs but wish I was wiser and sighed up for an epidural. Next time drugs all the way mate it's not called labour for nothing

Isn't that about the same as the 'good' Lamaze classes you pay for? I had my daughter at 19 with no drugs or pain meds, just focused on breathing through the pain. Once you are there, you don't need anything but deep breathing and focus. Whatever works for you, go for it.

I think it's awesome that she's spreading the news about HypnoBirthing!! I used this method with my daughter and I can honestly say - it works!! I had her all natural; no epidural or pain meds at only 19 years old. I will use this method with the rest of my future children as well :) Oh and before anyone thinks it's actual hypnosis, please research it! They teach you relaxation, visualization and breathing techniques to cope with the contractions. It's truly amazing :)
