No need to sacrifice style during childbirth!

Fashion empress Jessica Simpson plans to keep on wearing heels up until the moment -- literally! -- she welcomes her and fiance Eric Johnson's baby to the world.

"I'm probably going to deliver my baby in these [4-inch YSL heels]," she joked to the new Us Weekly, on stands Friday. "I went to the doctor yesterday and he said, 'You're gonna need to get out of those heels!'"

Her response? "I was like, 'Excuse me! I'll be delivering in these heels!"

The 31-year-old Fashion Star mentor is really having fun with her pregnancy style so far. "I like wearing things more fitted," she explained. "You want to show off your bump! It's just so fun. You don't want to wear muumuus so you can moo around town."

While Simpson said she's "definitely bigger than I've ever been," she's also "never felt so connected with my body in my life."

"I can imagine my tummy glowing," she gushed. "I'm already like the cheesy mom that my kids are embarrassed by!"

One thing she thinks her future son or daughter will like? Her creative Halloween birth announcement! (She posted a picture of herself and her bump dressed as a mummy to confirm that she was "going to be a mummy!")

"My kid's going to think I'm pretty cool!" she told Us. "This is a cool thing to welcome my baby to the world with."

She waited until the end of October to announce her pregnancy because, she said, "I didn't want to announce it before I was supposed to. I couldn't hide it anymore… I was like my baby [is] ready to be photographed!"

She was definitely joking around about this. But, it is possible to wear heals your whole pregnancy. My aunt did wore heals, until the day before she delivered. Heck, she was at work until the day before she had the baby. It can happen!

Doubt she'll be wearing 4" heels when she's 7-9 months unless she wants to be constantly falling

I think she has been wearing too much black. It is hiding her belly so much!!! I think if she is as proud of her belly as she says she is then add some color to your wardrobe!! :-)

Heels during pregnancy is a bad idea. Your center of gravity is way off due to the baby bump, and heels throw you even further off center, potentially causing damage to your spine and hips, not to mention the risk for falls. Victoria Beckham was out of commission for a good while after her pregnancy because her back and hips were messed up due to wearing heels. She couldn't even pick up her baby. Jessica, do you want to repeat that mess?

Pity the poor baby born to this clueless woman. Glad she is having fun, it starts getting a little tougher when you're as big as a waddling cow. And the joys of labor and no sleep when the baby arrives. Grow a backbone, you will need it! Hopefully the baby will have a good life and not its mother's fetish with high heels.

Jessica is just a fun but goofy person so if you don't like it GET OVER IT.

Does she spend a lot of time thinking up these inane and tasteless remarks? I have disdain for careers predicated on stupidity. It's a bad example for the youth of our country to be exposed to such low aspirations.

you don't honestly think Jessica is going to put herself at risk really do you.. If you know anything about Jessica that would be the furthest thing from the truth. When the time comes she will do as instructed you can bet on that. People need to lighten up & be happy for Jessica rather then not let her make & move on anything. Let her enjoy this & as many other women & celebs share there excitement lets enjoy it too. One thing about Jessica she is REAL & not a phony bone in her body which is quite refreshing. She says what many think & is not afraid to say it

First off, she is short, so with the bump, she will look shorter and fat which she is already looking big (not like Victoria Beckham baby bump which is tiny and small). So, she still wants to wear the heels. Wait until she gets heavier, she won't be able to carry herself or take that risk... to herself and baby? Come on Jess, you can do better than this... but you seem really big with the first child and first time pregnancy.

@Courtney and Tammy-No actually, I don't call every pregnant woman a bimbo. I don't call any pregnant women a bimbo, for this exception. I can't stand her. I have nothing againt pregnant women, but to put her stupid stilettos ahead of her baby is ridiculous, even though she was just joking about it. I have 5 kids and wore practical shoes, especially when the swelling set in. I have a right to my opinion, so that's what I put, just like you both did. I'm happy for JS that she's going to be a mother, as a child is a blessing, but give me a break. Say what you want about me, judge my opinion all you want, I really don't care. @Aimee-Yes, she was just kidding, but I found it to be a very stupid joke! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree with her.

NOT HER own shoe line? so she makes all of this money and her own shoes aren't good enough to wear? not a smart choice if you are expecting us all to buy Jessica Simpson Brand

  • November 17, 2011 - 5:08pm Ali Kat Hilley

she might want to rethink that heels decision.

  • November 17, 2011 - 5:04pm Aimee Mullen

i think she was just kidding...

  • November 17, 2011 - 4:44pm Elsa Caceres

to be a mother... is a privilege... she will learn ... being cool is not important... when being a parent

  • November 17, 2011 - 4:11pm Tammy Lynn

Diane do you call every pregnant happy mother to be a bimbo? Jess deserves to share her happiness just as anyother celeb?

  • November 17, 2011 - 4:02pm Courtney Puzzo

@Diane she's just excited about becoming a mom no need to call her a bimbo. though wearing heels up to the delivery is wishful thinking on her part her feet are gonna start to swell soon

  • November 17, 2011 - 3:54pm Trinity Kennedy

I love Jess. She's always so cute and bubbly , congrats! She is gonna make a great mommy!

  • November 17, 2011 - 3:51pm Diane Stadtherr
