Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson is a singer, actress, fashion designer and entrepreneur best known for her pop music career, reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica and billion-dollar fashion brand. Simpson was raised in Dallas, where she began singing in church as a child and auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club at age 12 but was not selected. Simpson later attended J.J. Pearce High School before leaving during her junior year to pursue music.

Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997 and released her debut album, Sweet Kisses, in 1999. The album produced the hit single “I Wanna Love You Forever” and established her as a strong presence in mainstream pop. Her success continued with follow-up albums including Irresistible (2001) and In This Skin (2003).

Simpson gained a new level of fame through Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, the MTV reality series she starred in with then-husband Nick Lachey from 2003 to 2005. She later expanded into acting with films including The Dukes of Hazzard (2005), Employee of the Month (2006) and Blonde Ambition (2007). She also ventured into fashion, launching the Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, which grew into a major fashion and lifestyle business.

Simpson married Lachey in 2002 and they divorced in 2006. She married former NFL player Eric Johnson in 2014. They share three children: Maxwell (born in 2012), Ace (born in 2013) and Birdie (born in 2019). Simpson and Johnson announced their separation in 2025 and she filed for divorce later that year. She later moved on with musician Thomas Eisenhood.
