Surprise! Life is changing in a big way for General Hospital actress Kirsten Storms. The 29-year-old soap star, who played Belle on Days of Our Lives and now appears as Maxie Jones on GH, is married and expecting her first child, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
Storms secretly tied the knot in June with fellow General Hospital actor Brandon Barash, her rep says. Barash, 33, played Johnny Zacchara on the long-running daytime series until April of this year.
The actress' pregnancy is big news for the couple, especially in light of her past struggles with endometriosis, which can affect fertility. "In the grand scheme of things, a lot more women go through this than I think people realize or talk about," she told Soap Opera Digest of her diagnosis in 2012.
Tweeting about her surprise baby news on Wednesday, Aug. 21, Storms shared a photo of her itty-bitty pregnant belly, which she captioned, "Bump alert. #thisisreallyhappening."
"Thanks to everyone for all the love!" she wrote to her followers. "Brandon and I are very very very excited about this new adventure."
Added Barash: "Wow peeps…the outpouring of love and blessings is humbling. I love you all."
