A true gentleman! Adam Levine revealed in an interview with Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show On Air With Ryan Seacrest on June 16 that "of course" he asked fiancee Behati Prinsloo's dad for permission to propose.
The Maroon 5 frontman, whose band just released their latest single "Maps" on Monday morning, was a bit hesitant when asked about his lady love, but admitted he went the traditional route when it came to getting the supermodel's father's blessing.
"I did ask his permission," The Voice coach said. "I don’t want to talk about it, you know how I am, but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-wracking."
Levine and Prinsloo got engaged back in July 2013, after taking a brief break. At the time, a source told Us Weekly, "He realized he really does love her and she was the one."
Aside from chatting about Prinsloo, the singer also joked about how far he's come since high school, when Maroon 5 initially formed.
"We were freshmen in high school, no girls would talk to us," the "Love Somebody" singer joked about his 15-year-old self. “I had pimples all over my face. I was not cool, really, at all. And that’s when all of this started, and we’re still doing it. It blows my mind."
Levine also confirmed that Voice newcomer and songstress Gwen Stefani will appear on the upcoming Maroon 5 album, titled V. When asked by Seacrest, Levine said: "How do you know everything already? I wanted it to be a surprise, but [yes] she is."
