Alexander Skarsgard Leads Chant at Swedish Soccer Match
Alexander Skarsgard's got spirit, yes he do. Alexander Skarsgard's got spirit, how bout you? The hunky True Blood actor got swept up in the excitement at a recent Swedish soccer match in Stockholm, and at one point found himself at the front of the crowd leading Hammarby fans in a rousing chant for the Hammarby team as they played rivals Falkenberg.
In the video, Skarsgard, 37, wore the team's green-and-white jersey and a pair of oversized shades as he gestured wildly and called for his fellow fans to clap along with him. YouTube users translate his words to be a series of rhetorical questions ("Who's the most beautiful? Who's the most victorious? Who's the best?") -- all with the unanimous answer: Hammarby.
The native Swede has expounded before about his love for the sport in a 2010 interview with TV Guide, calling himself a "huge fan of football -- or soccer as you guys call it."
"Hammarby's the name of the team. They're from the dirty south of Stockholm," he added. "We're gonna get relegated now. We're not gonna play in the Swedish premiere league next year. We're that bad. That's the life as a Hammarby fan -- it's kind of like, well, there's always next year."
The chiseled 6'4" actor most recently made headlines after he stripped down completely -- full frontal and all -- for a memorable scene in the season six finale of the hit HBO series, during which he runs buck-naked toward the camera after bursting into flames.
Not that Skarsgard is any stranger to being in the nude. In a 2011 interview with Regis & Kelly, the actor was all for being in the buff.
"I'm from Sweden," he told the talk show hosts at the time. "We don't wear clothes in Sweden. Let's get naked! Let's get naked!"
