Good things come to those who wait!
Given Ali Landry's history with bad boys — Mario Lopez cheated on her days before their 2004 wedding — the 38-year-old Hollywood Girls Night star wanted to take things slow with current husband Alejandro Monteverde.
"Because of the situation I was in before, I was just treading lightly, and did not want to make any mistakes in this relationship," Landry said on The Wendy Williams Show Thursday. "We abstained from having sex until we got married."
During the interview, Landry also revealed how she first learned of Lopez's philandering ways. "I had heard something right before the wedding. He swore that it was not true, but I had that feeling in my gut,. All of my family was flying in — it was a destination wedding — and I really should have put the brakes on it at that point, but I was afraid."
Taking the advice of a friend, Landry tapped Lopez's phone — and caught him in the act! "Right after the honeymoon I started getting phone calls from these girls," she said. "I confronted him and he still — to this day — denied it and never apologized. It was horrible."
With Lopez out of her life, Landry signed up for a theology class in L.A. where she met her future director hubby. "He was the person I was meant to be with," she explained. Landry and Monteverde wed in 2006 and have two children together: daughter Estela, 4, and son Marcelo, 5 months.
