New details about Robert Kelker-Kelly’s final moments before his death at the age of 62 are being revealed.
According to a St. Peter’s Police incident report obtained by Us on Wednesday, October 14, Robert’s wife, Allison Kelly, picked up the former Days of Our Lives and General Hospital star up from Spirit Airport in Missouri around 7:30 p.m. on October 3.
“While driving home, Robert complained of pain in his left arm, pain in his chest and asked her to stop the vehicle so he could throw up,” the report stated. “Allison related she asked Robert if he needed to go to a hospital, however, he declined and asked her to bring him home so he could lay down.”
After arriving home, Allison told police that Robert changed his clothes and lay down in their bed.
“Robert stated he was still experiencing pain and asked Allison to get him an aspirin,” the report claimed. “Allison relayed she went to the kitchen to retrieve an aspirin and when she returned to the bedroom, Robert was unresponsive and not breathing. She then called 911.”
Police and the St. Charles County Ambulance District arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures. Robert, however, was later pronounced deceased at 9:09 p.m. that evening.
Allison said her husband didn’t have a history of medical conditions and was not prescribed any medications. His cause of death has yet to be revealed, but the case is considered closed. (Page Six was the first to report the news.)
Robert rose to fame after joining Days of Our Lives in 1992, where he took over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell.
During his three-year run on Days of Our Lives, Robert starred opposite Kristian Alfonso as Hope Williams Brady and Lisa Rinna as Billie Reed. His portrayal of Bo earned him the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in 1994.
After his exit from Days of Our Lives in 1995, Robert went on to play Stavros Cassadine on General Hospital.
“Certainly a shock to hear of my former costar Robert Kelker-Kelly’s passing. My first years in TV on Another World were a whirlwind, and Robert and I had no idea how popular our storyline would be… or what that meant,” Sandra Dee Robinson wrote via Instagram on October 5. “We learned together! It was not always an easy time working together on that show, but years later we would laugh on calls about life. I know he enjoyed being a pilot … grateful to have had the opportunity to know him. It is sad news to see he’s passed.”
